Mary's Insurance Team is dedicated to minimizing out of pocket costs and maximizing health care coverage. We offer personalized service for Medicare, supplement, individual and group health insurance plans. We also have an exclusive offerings for life insurance and annuities. Our Story
Mary Hicks has been in the insurance industry since 2004. In 2017, she decided to start her own business and Mary's Insurance Team was born in Wellington, Ohio.
She packed up the van in May of 2018 and moved to Ashland, Ohio. A short drive from where she grew up, Mary opened an office on Claremont Avenue offering Medicare, supplement, group and individual health insurance plans for under 65, life insurance and annuities.

Wanting to accommodate all of the growing clientele, she moved in July of 2022 to 85 Amberwood Parkway, Suite H near Walmart. The new office offers individual meeting rooms for clients and a large conference room to hold education and exercise/balance classes for current and prospective clients.

Mary Hicks
Mary is the mother of two children and a grandmother of seven. She knows how important it is to protect a family for the unforeseeable future.​
​
Growing up in Wellington, Ohio, she started in the industry in 2004 helping her clients with life insurance. Eventually, she transitioned into offering a multitude of products, still offering life, but also including Medicare, under 65 health and annuities.
​
In May of 2018, Mary moved to Ashland, Ohio. She opened her first office under the business name of Mary's Insurance Team on Claremont Avenue in July of 2019.
​
Managing a growing business and adding agents to the team, Mary moved the office to 85 Amberwood Parkway, Suite H, in July of 2022.
​
Mary loves helping her clients and making their lives better through offering them more than just insurance coverage. She genuinely cares about people. Mary knows God has richly blessed her and the business.

She has now spent 19 years in the insurance industry helping many individuals and families maximize coverage and minimize their out of pocket costs.

Dan Chandler
As a licensed Accident & Health and Life Insurance Agent, Dan excels at helping clients minimize out of pocket costs while maximizing health care coverage.
He is here to help individuals solve the Medicare puzzle and make the best possible decisions for their unique situations no matter what type of coverage is needed.

Born and raised in North Central Ohio, Dan graduated from Ashland University with a BSBA in Marketing in 1994.
​
He has spent over ten years in the medical field, serving nearly two years as a Marketing/Admissions Director in a long term care facility.
​
Dan grew up in Ashland, Ohio. He lives in Ashland with his wife, Amy, an elementary teacher for 27 years. Dan graduated from Ashland High School in 1987 and with a BSBA in Marketing from Ashland University in 1994.
The couple has four children. The oldest, Kylie(27), is a Doctor of Physical Therapy at The Ohio State University. Owen(23) coaches linebackers at Ashland University. Aidan(20), is a pre-med student at Ohio Northern University and Makenna(15), is a sophomore at Ashland High School.

Dan is the "Voice" of Ashland Arrow sports and is responsible for Arrow sports history.

Jim McKeen
Jim has started helping clients solve the Medicare puzzle in 2021. He is dedicated to providing a high level of attention to all of his current and potential clients.
A former President of a strategic research and consulting organization in the construction industry, Jim has a lot of experience in understanding his client's needs.
Jim holds a BS in Psychology and an MBA in Marketing/Management from the University of Toledo. He has served on the Board of Directors for multiple organizations.
Jim and his wife Amy reside in Akron, Ohio. The couple has three adult sons and seven grandchildren.

Carrie Nunnari
Carrie joined the team in 2017. Prior to becoming part of the team, she worked in the financial industry for 18 years.
As an independent insurance agent, Carrie has focused her business on Medicare plans, Life Insurance, Annuities and Ancillary products.
She enjoys helping people through these difficult decisions and always tries to do what is best for the client.
Carrie grew up in Hinkley. She now resides in Medina with her husband, Dan. In their free time, the couple enjoys boating and traveling together.
